The mission of Fantastic Friends is to foster friendships in an environment of belonging, empowerment, and peer support. Fantastic Friends members are youth ages 12-17 with developmental disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum. We are safety-driven, community based, and committed to supporting historically marginalized people/groups.

Led by neurodivergent individuals, Fantastic Friends operates with a commitment to transparency, integrity, diversity, and accessibility.  We believe everyone deserves access to inclusive and affirming friendships and experiences.

About Us

Believe Together

Neurodivergent tweens and teens who live in East Multnomah County Oregon have few opportunities for social activities and events.  As a group, they are isolated and lonely.  Within the framework of Fantastic Friends, they can experience friendship, share experiences, and learn positive social behaviors in safe and welcoming environments.

Strengthen  Bonds

Our goal is to root and grow  lifelong friendships among our members.  We hope to accomplish this goal by providing regular opportunities for Fantastic Friends to get together while accompanied by an adult coach.  These events and activities continue for the club member even after changing academic placements or moving within the service area.
